Built by a person, not a corporation
Hi, I'm Craig Cowden, the creator of WaxStax.
I built WaxStax because I have a stack of records that aren't on Discogs yet and I'm tired of typing fragments into a search box hoping for a hit. Barcode scanners give up on the records that matter — vintage pressings, regional editions, faded ink, white-label promos. WaxStax was designed for those records first.
This is an independent project, built and maintained by me. The whole app is iPhone-native — SwiftUI, SwiftData, AVFoundation. There's no backend, no account system, no analytics SDK, no advertising tracker. Everything stays on your phone except the explicit shutter still you send to Anthropic and the metadata lookups you make to Discogs, both with your own API keys.
Privacy matters. WaxStax processes your collection on your device. The app does not have a backend, does not collect telemetry, and does not sync to the cloud.
